Dear valued Students, Parents and Colleagues,

As I begin the spring cleanup in my yard, I am reminded of the trascience of nature. The snow begins to melt, leaves begin to grow back and my spring flowers muster up enough energy to sprout in hopes of reaching a warmer sun. As I reflect on my forever changing landscape, I am reminded of our forever changing students.

Just like the uniqueness of each new Spring sprout, each student is unique both academically and personally. Sometimes unique and distinctive learning styles can present challenges in the classroom. However, these challenges can feasibly be overcome when faced head on through a critical collaboration with fellow parents, student, teacher and staff.

Let’s continue to work together to construct an environment conducive to student progression. We can encourage our students to embrace their uniqueness and remind them that success presents in a variety of unique ways. We must provide strength to our learners while they overcome academic struggles in search of new challenges. We must remind them of our unwavering support which is compulsory to our shared end goal: academic success.

Let’s continue to work together to help our students sprout and grow into unique, beautiful flowers while they carry on with their academic journey.

🌼 After one month of launching, the Cultural Exchange Program: My Borderless Best Friends! had helped more than 40 IGSers connect with friends from countries such as Turkey, Spain... This April, the Office of Student Affairs will continue the Field-based Learning Program with a new theme: Earth's Day! This session will emphasize the importance of education to protect nature, as well as inspire the young generation to love and preserve the environment around them. The session includes:

✨ Promoting actions that help prevent pollution
✨ Creating chances for family members to have bonding time via physical activities

✨ Following the Reading Enhancement Program from the first semester, the Office of Student Affairs would like to announce the return of the 21-day reading challenge with a completely new format: "Read, detective. Read!" The reading criteria in this school year are not only improved but also more exciting, which ensures that IGS students can become reading detectives and help the school to solve interesting mysteries!

🌸 We are sure you have heard the saying before: "Like father, like son", or "the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree"... Have it ever occurred to you that you may not only "like" your parents, but also "like" your teachers? At IGS, we believe once you spend enough time learning from your educators, as well as giving them enough love and gratitude, you will become just like them!

There's only one way to find out if our belief is true or not: Participating in our activity - Like Teacher, Like Student!

The event has continuously opened up fresh discoveries and experiences for students nationwide. Students have the first time experiencing the American standard classroom, discussing hot topics in social life, practicing simple science and technology experiments on their own, etc. In addition, they also had the chance to participate in extracurricular activities and share their knowledge.

Hopefully, the activities during the enrollment week have helped parents and students have new experiences and the most multi-dimensional perspective on the style and orientation of the American standard educational program. Notably, the scholarship programs of Ivy Global School will continue to take place until the end of March 31st, 2023. On the morning of Saturday, March 4, students from Ivy Global school and IvyPrep together participated in a workshop with an unfamiliar topic: Digital fabrication. This time, IvyPrep and IGS collaborated with Fablab Saigon, one of the 1500 makerspaces under the Fab Foundation system, an unit of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA).

With detailed instructions from Fablab Saigon, the students could observe and learn the function of the specialized machines such as 3D printer, laser cutter or CNC printer. After that, students spent nearly 2 hours learning how to design a phone case model on TinkerCAD software. To be able to do well in this section, students must apply their knowledge of spatial geometry and detailed calculation capabilities to be able to produce a design file that fits best.
